Alltogether we had a beatiful experience. The family room is quite nice and the staff very friendly. We could rent the bikes in advance at a good rate, they have their own bike rental inside the hostel. The lounge is beatuful and my children enjoyed the billiard and the foorball table. The breakfast as well was nice and the choice good.
To improve: the room bathroom is very small and ventilator did not work, we told the reception but no one came to fix it. The price is not cheap considering it is a hostel

Very small rooms with a minimum furnitures inside, bathroom is like a small cage with the risk that water will flood outside. Good for a short stay when you only need to sleep and take a shower there. Quite tasty breakfasts included
The Stayokay Youth hostel was amazing! Because of our schedule we could only stay here for one night but everything here was perfect. The ambience is good with the focus on sustainability. Everyone was really welcoming and the check in-out processes were smooth. The rooms were clean and cozy. This is a great place if you want to bring your kids for vacation. The rates are reasonable and usually the breakfast is included with the stay. Small gardens and children play areas are available around the hostel. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
The only problem one might face would be public transport. The nearest railway stations are Heiloo and Alkamaar. Buses to these stations are available but the bus stops are a bit far away(~1-1.5 Km) . You can also take a taxi from the hotel if you're not on a budget tour.
If you have a car then the transport won't be an issue.
The web photos don't give this hostel any justice. It is amazing for a family vacation with little children. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. It is less than 10 minutes drive to the beach and the town is beautiful.
